We are very excited to announce that “Stargate Universe” and “Supernatural” alum Alaina Huffman has boarded our next feature film Deep Focus in the lead role of Maggie Cleatone, a female photojournalist who begins seeing images of death through her lens after suffering the tragic loss of her young daughter. Our own Kenneth Mader will helm the project from his award-winning screenplay.
“I love this script,” Alaina said. “Such a beautifully nuanced character. I’m always looking for more vulnerability in these strong female roles. Ken is a lovely writer who knows how to strike that balance and create great female characters. Plus it’s a really terrific story. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.”
Joining her pending final deals are screen legend and Golden Globe® Nominee Malcolm McDowell, along with Academy Award® Nominee and Golden Globe® Winner Bruce Davison, whom Mader worked with on his previous feature Displacement.
Also joining the team are producer Julie Caitlin Brown, casting director J. Howard Sable, and sound designer/mixer Patrick Giraudi, with more announcements coming soon.
Funding is underway with partial deals already in place and principal photography planned for Spring, 2019. Stay tuned for more news as we move forward.
